Cynthia started her long running career in the industry by making the move from New York to pursue a job as a model. Within a few months Cynthia was signed to a five-year agreement for a 5-year contract with Wihelmina Models. It led to an extremely popular book and the cover of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's Essence initial cover not only became one of its most selling covers, it also became Susan Taylor's favorite. Cynthia's second cover was booked shortly after, setting the stage for her successful career. When she moved to Paris Cynthia took to the Paris Fashion Week runways and Milan Fashion Week. After having lived abroad for nearly one an entire year Cynthia returned to New York City and took part in high demand advertising ads in Maybelline, Oil of Olay and Macy's. Magazine editorials included for Vogue, Glamour, Elle, Essence and Vanity Fair soon followed. One of Cynthia's most memorable career moments was being chosen ahead of Naomi Campbell for a co-starring part alongside Sandra Bernhadt in the film "Without You I'm Nothing."
