Dina was born in Forest Hills in Queens. New York. But she changed her location in Dix Hills on Long Island shortly before finishing her junior year. Dina Meyer is the younger sibling of Gregory, and has an older brother named Evan. Modeling was her first job in the field. She did it from age nine to sixteen. Ron Stetson taught her the Sanford Meisner acting technique at The Neighborhood Playhouse. Sandra Bullock received similar training and also Michael Douglas and Jeff Goldblum. Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton are among the actors that have undergone the same type of instruction. After moving to Los Angeles, she got her first lead role in the Beverly Hills 90210. Then, she got the role of the main character in the film Johnny Mnemonic, in which she did almost all of her stunts herself, and established her as a sexy actress. It was through the talent agent Matt LeBlanc, the talent agent Matt LeBlanc that she was to be able to get a regular part on Friends.
